Life is a journey, not a destination. #AMeaningfulLife

Life is a journey, not a destination. Our flow must contract before it can expand. And the contraction is equally important to the expansion. (I have to give credit to Buddha’s Brain by Rick Hanson and Richard Mendius for that.)

The past is not worth reliving over and over.  While we all have great joys that we like to reminisce about with friends and family and that is a wonderful thing, reliving the disappointments, the heartbreaks, thinking and worrying about the tough stuff that happened yesterday won’t change it.  Reject the old pain from your mind.  That old energy will hang on if you let it.

It’s true, you know,  it takes a great deal of courage to change your life. But here’s the thing, it takes even more courage to accept the responsibility for making the change happen. Often when I sit with someone who needs assistance and support as a support service provider I understand all too well they know the answers to their issues from my training as a counsellor. But it’s owning those answers and making those tough decisions to activate change that is the hard part. I adopted a saying, your life is your responsibility.

“One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it’s worth watching.”  ~ Unknown

As the end of 2015 nears I know next year will see the end of a lot of things for me and the beginning of new and exciting things too. There are things I have to change. An excuse is the same as a tree blocking the way… time to stop using the tree as an excuse and walk on to continue the journey.

Happiness is not found in the way others see you. Comparison to others will turn you into a prisoner. Continually trying to prove your worth by gaining physical things messes with your inner value.

The truth is, we all struggle with these things. We are all fighting our own battles. There are times when we walk alone and times when we walk in solidarity.

Be certain there is always help if you need it. All you have to do is ask.
This can be a time of the year when people need to talk. I’ve included a few links below.

There comes a time when you have to feel free to be yourself. Your happiness is also your responsibility.

So as we near the end of 2015 think about the answers to your issues. You will know them. And yes, they might seem too hard at the time. Nothing great comes from doing nothing at all.

This is my last post until next year. May you be blessed with happiness over the holidays and beyond. Be safe.

So until next time. Be brave and bold in your chosen field of creativity. And never be afraid to explore new techniques.
